Ride901 is an access organization. A website that only works for confident, able, experienced web users would be a strange place to start.
Our target
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That means it is designed to work with a keyboard alone, with screen readers, at 200% zoom, with reduced motion enabled, and with sufficient color contrast throughout.
What we have built in
- A skip-to-content link on every page.
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators.
- Semantic headings and landmarks in a logical order.
- Labels, hints, and accessible error messages on every form.
- Meaningful alternative text on images that carry information, and empty alt on decorative ones.
- Descriptive link text rather than “click here”.
- No auto-playing audio or video.
- Motion reduced automatically when your device asks for it.
- Touch targets large enough to use one-handed on a phone.
- Plain language, short sentences, and no jargon we can avoid.
At our events
Accessibility questions about a specific program are welcome and useful. Tell us what your family needs and we will tell you honestly what we can support. Adaptive riders are welcome, and adaptive divisions are part of the plan for our racing programs.
