Access is physical.
A bike. A helmet. Somewhere safe to ride. A coach who can teach it. And a welcome that makes a family believe the event was built with their child in mind. Ride901 builds each one on purpose.
Loaner bikes
PlannedLoaner bikes are planned for Ride901 events at no cost, subject to availability and rider fit. A child who arrives without a bike should still get to ride.
We will publish an actual fleet count once bikes are acquired. We are not going to advertise a number we do not have.
Helmets and fitting
PlannedProperly fitted helmets are planned at every event, at no cost and subject to availability. Fit is checked by a Ride901 volunteer, not guessed at.
Helmets are required for everyone riding at a Ride901 event, including adults.
Scholarships
PlannedRide901 works through trusted community partners to connect families with free program and race-entry opportunities. Scholarship participants receive the same experience, equipment access, recognition, and support as every other rider.
Allocated through partner organizations rather than a public hardship application. The partner knows the family; Ride901 just says yes.
Free Community Ride Days
PlannedFree pop-up cycling events, co-hosted in the neighborhoods where families already are. Free is not a discount here — it is the design.
School and neighborhood partnerships
PlannedRide901 co-hosts with schools, churches, community centers, and youth organizations. The partner helps select the site and reach families.
Getting there
PlannedTransportation is coordinated with the host partner, not assumed. If a family cannot get to a site, that is a barrier like any other and it gets solved before the event, not on the day.
No child is turned away because of an inability to pay.
Cost should never be the reason a child cannot participate. Ride901 provides scholarships, loaner bikes, helmets, and free programming so families can take part regardless of their ability to pay, subject to program capacity, age requirements, safety rules, and equipment availability.
How to refer or invite a family.
Ride901 does not ask families to prove need. Partner organizations already know the children in their care, so referrals come through them.

- You identify the children and families — no application, no means test, no paperwork for the family.
- Ride901 confirms places, equipment, and any transport support with you.
- The child arrives and has the same experience as every other rider there.
